Fortunately, a woman’s business wardrobe needs only a few essential basic pieces and she can change her look by mix matching between slacks, skirts, jackets and business blouses and still look very professional every day.

Start with a purchase of a black skirt in an A-line style that falls just above at or below the knee line. An A-line black skirt will look good with a red, tan or blue jacket and a variety of blouses.

Purchase a black business jacket. You can buy a set of skirt and jacket but these are usually more expensive, and sometimes one item does not fit as well as the other. Choose a jacket with a length longer than the top of your hipbone.

You can branch out to other colors. Additional items in your wardrobe would be additional jackets, skirts and slacks that are interchangeable. You can choose colors in the shades of tan, brown, gray, dark blue or white since they can be a good mix-match.

Choose dress blouses that allow you to pull your entire wardrobe together. This is the area where your versatility and good taste can shine. Find some patterned shirts with prints or solid colors that incorporate a color found in a skirt or slacks.

Whether it be a perfume spray, eau de toilette or perfume extract, apply the scent before you put on any clothes or jewelry. Perfumes can leave permanent stains on fabrics, metals, and pearls.

Apply perfume lightly to the body’s pulse points such as wrists, base of the throat, behind the ear lobes, the bend in your elbows, and between the breasts.
Try not to dab your wrists together after applying perfume fragrances as this breaks down the scent.

You can apply fragrance to your hair if it is freshly washed. Spray your hair from a distance of at least 8 inches. Another way to do it is to spray some of the perfume in your hands and then pat it on your hair.

If you have fair or dry skin, the perfume is going to wear off faster than those with darker or oily skin. You might need to give yourself one or two perfume sprays of your favorite scent in between your time.

Change the fragrances that you use every now and then. It has been medically proven that scents have a strong effect on our emotions and mindset. Try new and different perfumes every 3-4 months or with the changes of the seasons. New is always good.

To keep your perfumes last, place and store them in the fridge between uses. By this, you slow the process of oxidation that breaks down the scent.
